really had an impact on me (if you read it on my Facebook post, please bear with
me as I repeat it-- to me, it's well worth repeating...)
"...prioritizing one resource from another..
I VALUE TIME OVER MONEY.
Money is man's creation, but time can not be created out of thin air. You can lose all your money in one day, and subsequently make it back. But I know of NO ONE who has been able to RECOVER LOST TIME.
We can always go on-line and check how much money we have left,
but NONE of us know HOW MUCH TIME WE HAVE LEFT."
~ Peter Lawrence
(emphasis added by me)
We live in a day when our time is filled with EVERYTHING you can think of... to the point of barely "enough time" left for sleeping or resting. We are so tired (and usually cranky) MOST of the time that we hardly ever even enjoy what we try to fill our time with. (lol-- did you get that? ;) It is a shame, really... in our country we are running ourselves ragged with work, extra after-school activities, sports, shopping, running around at 24 hour retail stores, etc, etc, etc... RARELY any time left for anything profitable. Things like "Slow Down and Take the Long Road Around" or "Stop to Smell the Roses" are reduced to plaques we like to hang on our walls... but never anything we really take heed to. TIME is PRECIOUS and IRREPLACEABLE... it should be spent WISELY and not squandered away. Just something worth thinking about.
" Doest thou love life?
Then do not squander time, for that is the stuff that life is made of."
~Benjamin Franklin
My father, my father-in-law, and my mother-in-law have all passed away, all in their EARLY 60's....
We truly do not know how much time we have... we should spend it wisely. WHAT are we spending our time on? *I* would add to Mr. Lawrence's words in saying *I* ALSO value PEOPLE over POSSESSIONS....
