I saw this beautiful poem posted on facebook and thought it was so beautiful & moving. More than a poem, more than a psalm, more than a prayer~ to me, it is a heart poured out... a pure heart poured out before the Almighty. I asked if I could put it on this website because it is something that is more than words~ it's heart, and I wanted to share it and preserve it in some way (the posts on facebook are "there"... and then they're gone). She graciously allowed me permission, and so with much *thanks* to the author that penned these words~ I, now, share it with you...
In the Dim Light
by Channah Wolf
O my Father, I wept unto You.
My voice lifted on downy wings to light gently
upon Your ears.
I placed my plea before Your feet.
My lament I cried out to You,
I made manifest before You, my distress.
Besieged, within me, my spirit, besieged.
My path You know quite well.
Though I walk in Your way,
I find snares secretly laid in my path.
The help of man I sought. To the left, no one.
To the right, no one.
No man gives refuge, all failed me.
For my soul,
mankind has no care.
You, O YHWH, I cry!
You are my refuge.
While I live I will seek You.
Hear me, Almighty Elohiym,
I walk in the valley, strong enemies seek my life,
deliver me by Your hand.
Release my soul from this prison of sorrow.
Loosen the bonds by Your words.
Let Your keys to the
Kingdom unlock the doors of this earthly prison.
Then will I shout and praise Your Name.
Your righteous ones shall encircle me,
for You have dealt with me in compassion.
Deliver me O YHWH from my enemies.
With names , fear, doubt, disobedience.
I run to you,
hide me I pray, from these who would destroy.
Teach me to do Your will, O my Elohiym,
You, who controls the mighty winds of time.
You are my Master, my Father, my Salvation
You alone are good, Your Ruakh is good.
Into the land of righteousness, lead by Your hand.
Let all the earth cry out,
YHWH, the Almighty Elohiym,
He is life, He is present... even in the dim light.
